Health Care in Christ Inc is committed to protecting your privacy while you use our site.  We will not sell or exchange any personal information you give us in any form with any other party.
The information will be used to send you the newsletter and email updates and any optional information will be used to understand the demographics of Christian health care and enable us to offer a better service. If you consent for us to do so, we may give your work contact phone numbers to people looking for a Christian practitioner.
You may request a copy of your personal information on our records by emailing us on admin@hcic.org.au (conditions apply see privacy statement).
If you decide that you no longer wish to receive the newsletter or email updates you may opt out by emailing us on admin@hcic.org.au with ‘REMOVE’ in the message title.

Security
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.



HCIC Inc Privacy Policy

Health Care In Christ Inc is bound by the Privacy Act of December 2002.

Collection of information
HCIC collects information from members and those who wish to be in contact with HCIC in order to administer the organisation properly. The information is kept on the membership forms and on our computer database system in the national office and branch offices. Our staff and committee members may participate in the collection of this information from membership application/renewal forms, conferences and other events and via email.

Use & Disclosure
Member and contact information will be used to mail newsletters and other information and for account and billing purposes. Member contact details may be distributed to those in the organisation who are appointed as state or regional leaders, coordinators of special interest groups or other authorised people for the purpose of administration of the organisation on a “need to know” basis.
Contact information will be distributed in a printed or electronic format such as read only CD-ROM but not in an insecure form such as by unencrypted email.

If you consent for us to do so, we may give your business address and phone number to people looking for a Christian practitioner.

Health Care in Christ Inc is committed to protecting your privacy and we respect the right of members to decide how their contact information is used or disclosed.  We will not disclose (by selling or exchanging) any personal information you give us in any form with any other party except where legally obliged to do so.

Data quality and security
All steps will be taken to update the data collected to ensure that it is correct. The website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. All information is kept in a secure environment.

Access and correction
Members are entitled to view their own information and accounts. This access can be denied where:
There is a legal impediment to access
Access would unreasonably impact on the privacy of another
The request is frivolous or vexatious
The information relates to anticipated or actual legal proceedings and the member would not be entitled to access the information in those proceedings
Denying access is in the interest of national security
We ask that requests for information be in writing. Where there is a dispute concerning the accuracy of the information that has been recorded, the member is entitled to correct that information. All steps will be taken to record all corrections made by members in these circumstances, and place them with the member details, but there is no guarantee that the original record will be erased.

Anonymity
Law requires that we make it possible for contacts to remain anonymous. However, we do require to know your identity for membership purposes.

Complaints
Should a member have a complaint about breaches of privacy, this may be taken up in writing to:

who shall refer the matter to the governing body of the organisation. Complaints about alleged breaches of privacy can be made to the Federal Privacy Commissioner. The Commissioner can conciliate &, if necessary, make determinations about complaints. However the Commissioner will not investigate, unless the complainant has first complained formally to the HCIC Inc.
